Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. As a young girl, she moved to Oxfordshire where she studied at The Dragon School. Emma's dream was to become an actor. When she was 6she was enrolled into the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch, where she took classes in acting, singing and dance. The actress had performed in several Stagecoach or school shows when she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was found by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having eight straight auditions. Emma's first screen appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in 2001. The highest-grossing movie of 2001, the film set records for its opening day opening and opening weekend takings. The film was praised by critics who praised the film, and especially the younger actors. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British newspaper, was awed by her for her outstanding performance. Emma received five nominations for her impressive performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of a Film.
